Drinkhacker 2022 Wine Cheat Sheet / Vintage Chart

October is here, and it’s time for the annual update to our wine-centric “Vintage Chart Cheat Sheet.” The concept is simple: Refer to this handy document to learn, in the broadest of strokes, whether a vintage of wine from a given region is worth a gamble on. The sheet is designed to be printed out and kept in your wallet, or you can save the PDF for offline use or simply bookmark this page (for the next 12 months). This year, we’ve trimmed up some of the older vintages in most New World regions to remove some previously great vintages from the list which have now clearly faded a bit.

As always, here’s how to use the cheat sheet: Only the last two digits of a year are included to save space, and the list only rarely reaches back into the pre-WWII era, so anything you see starting with a zero or one is from the 2000s.

All years listed here are considered good to great vintages, but those in green with underlining are the cream of the crop, “classic” years that you should consider the very best on the market. (Why green and underlined? So you can tell the difference whether you use a color or black & white printer.)
