If you store whiskey mixed with water, will it separate eventually?

I have never been the biggest fan of most whiskeys. I was gifted a bottle recently, and had heard that adding some water can help bring out more flavors. If I just add a some water to the bottle and mix it well, will it eventually separate, and have to be mixed before I drink it each time?
