Can I drive with an open bottle of alcohol that’s secured in my trunk in a suitcase?

Figured this would be the best place to ask, driving across a few states, specifically Minnesota through Wisconsin & into Illinois. Was visiting some family last night and we opened a couple bottles of lovely 18 & 21 year old scotch. Obviously it’s not a big freaking deal, it’s not like I’m driving with it in my lap lol, but is it legal? They’re just in my suitcase with all of the clothes and stuff. Thanks.
