Vodka and juice at a social evening in a park?

Last saturday I went to the park with some friends to have some drinks, and I thought of buying a bottle of vodka because I had an unopened carton of orange juice, but I thought that was too crazy for the occasion and I brought a sixpack of beer instead.

Was it really too wild for the evening, or could I have brought vodka?
