What liquor and canned soup combination do you think produces a good tasting beverage / meal?

I tried this with some Dickel whiskey and Progresso vegetable soup, the result was awful. Too sweet. I tried this because I like ales and soup, I figure there has to be a combo where you can get about 5% alcohol and drink hearty good tasting soup at the same time.
