Stupid question but I need an answer

I’ve been having panic attacks at 3 am now after drinking, I no longer sleep through the night. I want to quit but have to wait until Monday when I have my drs appointment so I can tell my dr and see how they can help. How do I stop waking up in the middle of the night? Do I just need to drink more? I know this is an awful question and the obvious answer is stop drinking
