Best brown liquor?

I’m looking for a gift for a friend, and I don’t drink. He is a 56 year old male, and always talks about how he loves winding down every night with a nice glass of brown liquor.

What are some of recommendations for brown liquor that he’d appreciate? I don’t make much money, but I’m willing to spend up to $150.
