How to drink without getting sick, and how to manage tolerance?
I’ve been drinking pretty regularly since I was about 19, I’m 21 now and it’s only picked up from there. And I know that’s not a good thing but this seems like the only subreddit I could go on that wont just tell me to stop.
I really enjoy my nights after work or on the weekends at my PC just doing my thing alone and 9/10 times I’ll be drinking while doing it. As I’m sure a lot of y’all can relate. I mean sometimes I’ll go for a beer or two with my friends but for the most part they’re all in the same boat as me, they like alone time and getting drunk alone.
I’ve noticed the longer I been drinking my tolerance has gone through the roof, I remember when three beers would get me sloshed. And now it doesn’t even phase me, I’m writing this right now on my last glass of a bottle of Josh Merlot and I mean, I got a decent buzz but not where I want to be. It definitely could be my weight too, I’ve gained a pretty good amount of weight in the last three years which is most definitely from drinking, the bigger you are the more it takes. But obviously how often and the quantity of drinks plays a large part too. My go to is cape cod (vodka & cranberry) I’ll drink pretty much anything but tequila. I enjoy whisky and scotch, LOVE beer but gets me more sick than drunk now.
That’s the other thing, I’ve come to find I can’t drink like I used to. I get sick faster than drunk. I puke pretty often, it’s like the alcohol goes right through me. Thankfully right now I feel fine with this merlot. And I felt fine the other night with whisky. Maybe I’ve just had too much cape cod and beer that my body rejects it now. Idk.
Anyone else get like this? If you did or do, how do you manage it and continue drinking?
