Anyone else just absolutely love a good pint?
I genuinely think a nice pint is one of life’s great pleasures. Thank God I’ve never been particularly interested in hard liquor. Just give me a lovely 4–5% beer, that slight buzz, and I’m a happy man.
One of my favourite things to do when visiting a new town or city is to find a proper old-fashioned pub, sit at the bar with a pint and just watch the world go by. It’s such a lovely way to get a feel for a place.
And I absolutely love the colourful characters you meet in pubs! People from completely different walks of life, telling stories, having a laugh, chatting with complete strangers. There’s something wonderful about that. A good pub really is a little window into the soul of a town.
I know my limits. I’ve never felt the need to get absolutely wasted or make a fool of myself. I just genuinely enjoy beer, the slight buzz and everything that comes with pub culture.
Honestly, I think life would be a lot less enjoyable without it. I couldn’t imagine living somewhere where having a pint isn’t part of the culture, let alone somewhere alcohol is forbidden altogether.
Anyone else feel the same? Surely there’s something to be said for simply enjoying a few pints and the wonderful social world surrounding them!
