Price in middle east is ridiculous !

Hey guys,

I live in Jordan and stopped by a local liquor store today to grab a bottle of vodka (planning to mix it with grapefruit juice).

I asked for a 1L bottle of Smirnoff Red, and the guy told me it’s 35 JOD (~$49 USD). I was honestly shocked by the price, so I asked about a 1L bottle of Absolut just to compare. He said it was 32 JOD (~$45 USD)!

When I pointed out that Absolut is generally higher quality (and usually more expensive worldwide), he went: “Nooooo, you’re wrong, Smirnoff is way better!” 😂

Obviously, I took the 1L Absolut for 32 JOD and saved 3 dinars on a much cleaner vodka. Checked local online delivery sites later, and 1L of Absolut goes for 35 JOD, while 750ml of Smirnoff is around 22 JOD.

Just wanted to share this experience. If you’re buying alcohol in Jordan, always check prices first so you don’t get ripped off!
