how much shots can i take before smelling like alcohol

it won’t be my first time drinking, but my first time to party. me and my friends used to drink at one of their houses after school, but i’d only take 2-3 shots before going home (my dad used to be alcoholic, so both my parents know when I smell like alcohol). ive only reached tipsy-ness twice (friends’ birthdays), but i was also caught twice.

im planning to come w my friends this halloween to finally get to experience clubbing (im legal, just strict parents). i dont really plan on getting wasted, im just there for the experience.

are 4-5 pure shots enough to avoid smelling? or 4-5 shots of mixed? AND if my friends are wasted and really smell, will their smell be transferred to me?
