Blackout but not visibly drunk?
Not trying to break rule #4, but I’ve had serious trouble trying to find any explanations for this:
How can someone get blackout but simultaneously exhibit very few outward signs of intoxication?
For context, I’m a moderate drinker and typically start slurring my words/losing coordination/dropping things far earlier than being anywhere near a blackout. I can count on 1 hand the times I’ve blacked out in my life, and have been “sloppy” drunk on many more occasions.
On this occasion, however, I consumed far more than I normally do. I have almost no memories of the evening after a certain point, but the people with me described me very differently from normal. I was apparently lucid, had non-slurred speech, and (most surprisingly) wasn’t dropping my phone, tripping over things or otherwise exhibiting my typical signs of intoxication.
This is confusing the hell out of me, as it almost seems like I came out on the “other side” of drunkenness. Memory completely impacted, but somehow maintained physical/verbal coordination to an eerily high level.
Any and all suggestions welcome, as I’m simply trying to find any explanation for this? Even just a thread to tug at would be valuable, because it is incredibly confusing. Thanks!
