What would you say is your primary reason for drinking?

After talking to a lot of friends about this we seem to have very different reasons. I drink as a way to relax, I’m not sure of all the details for how it helps me feel relaxed but that’s why. However my friends seem to think drinking is pointless if you’re not doing it to get drunk. I have never been drunk and have no intention of getting drunk. I tend to for higher quality drinks or drinks that have some complexity to them, I’m mostly a spirits and wine drinker.
