Can you answer some of my questions about alcohol?
Hey guys, I’m not here to judge, I am genuinelly very curious about some questions about other peoples experiences with it. Maybe from somone addicted, maybe somone that enjoys it a lot, a more casual drinker etc.
(you can skip to the questions)
Here is a little backstory, I’m 21. My first drink was at 13, a cheap vodka while playing football with some friends. I didn’t like the taste. Later tried at a fancy bar at like 15 some shots and a flambè shot, didn’t like the taste either. I have been to some parties, clubbing and first of all i need to drink a lot to feel preety buzzed and never have I ever liked the taste of something with alcohol. I’ve been really drunk only 2 times in my life. For me to get drunk the first time, i needed multple shots of gin, whiskey, vodka and some wine. 2nd time was with my girl, where i had 4 shots of hennesy back to back, but it was a way “lesser” drunk then the first time. And only had a hangover with no vomiting just a headache the first time.
I tasted all sorts of alcohol, cocktails, gin, whiskey, vodka, beer, wine, traditional romanian ones which i don’t know the names off in english. Only ever really liked a pina colada from turkey, and a beer from a terrace and that’s it, and even then, I would much rather drink a peach lipton or a normal burn energy drink. I’ve tried dirt cheap alcohol wines, white red or rose because of game of thrones. And a little more expensive stuff (for me at least), like don julio, hennesy, or moèt.
Long story short, everything just tastes like rubbing alcohol or something very unplesant to drink. I much preffer and I am addicted to ciggs and energy drinks, and drink basically only water and ice tea. (maybe that has anything to do with it).
Questions:
How many days do you drink per week?
Did you ever like the taste of any alcohol related stuff on the first try? If there are some that you liked and some that you didn’t would you be kind to tell me which type of alcohol are you talking about?
2(a) If you didn’t like a certain type which now you really enjoy/love. How long did it take to finally like it and what changed?
How/Why did you start drinking?
Does your alcohol still taste bad but you like the way it makes you feel?
Why are you still drinking? If you are?
*6. Hangovers for me are the most important and dubious part, btw. Do you not fear hangovers? Are they bad/not bad for you? For me it’s really hard to drink a lot when I think about the fact I might vomit the next day which I really hate or might have a severe headache if i overdrink like crazy which again I really hate! How do you deal with them?
How does blackout drunk feel?
How drunk do you usually like to be and why, and how it makes you feel?
What does it take for you to feel preety tipsy?
10*. Am I the only one that thinks preety strong alcohol types, for example vodka/gin/whiskey tastes the same? I can’t tell the difference. To me all strong types really smell and taste like rubbing alcohol, and I really don’t enjoy it. Is it the same for you, how can you tell the difference what makes it enjoyable to drink?
I’ve heard this a lot about beer. Does it really only taste bad until you finally get used to it? And how easy is it to get drunk off it? Or is it a different type of drunk? The most beers I’ve drank for 5 and genuinelly didn’t feel a thing.
I feel like, outside of drugs that isn’t weed, it’s preety expensive being a avid drinker, especially if you like more expensive stuff, do you have a problem with that or is that not a problem for you? For example my nicotine addiction is eating a lot of money.
Can you quit?
13(a). If you can’t quit, how does it feel to want to drink? What makes you want to drink a beavarage basically?
How does wine feel, what is different from normal drinking about it, and why would people consider it fancier? Does it taste for you grimy, and preety harsh and bitter?
I think that’s all I have guys, I would really love to know some enjoyers of drinking thoughts to make me understand some stuff a little more deeply about something that I really don’t understand and don’t feel like doing. For now where I stand, I really can’t phatom or understand somones point of view about drinking and it being enjoyable. To me it tastes bad, it can get expensive, and the hangovers can just be crazy, and the dumb stuff that can happen and i’ve seen happen if you overdrink. Like people pissing themselfes, vomiting, shitting all over the place, passing out, or other stuff. I would love if I can see some of your points of view so I can change mine, I’m sure you’ll have some cool stuff to say!
And, as a last note. Something to say about my taste: I don’t enjoy sweets, but I do enjoy some sweet stuff but get oversaturated like crazy from them. I love tangy, spicy, and bitter and honestlly just love food, which can be odd when you think about the fact some alcohol can be exactlly like that.
