do people actually drink whiskey for the taste..

I genuinely can’t fathom how anyone could actually like the taste of it. I feel like it’s just some pretentious bs people say to seem intelligent or something. All I have in my house is whiskey and I only drink it to get drunk. Its completely ruined the taste of coke since that’s what I mix it with, and now I cant even drink it by itself without a hint of whiskey down my throat…
