I bought a mini bottle (50ml) of Myers’s Rum original dark and I think something went very wrong with it at some point.

I’ve often heard good things about the brand so when I saw a mini bottle I figured it try it.

When I opened it I was hit with the smell of burning plastic and unfortunately it tasted like it smelled.

Any ideas what went wrong with the one I picked up? I feel the brand wouldn’t still be around if it always tastes like that.
