Is 7–8 shots of vodka too much for a first time drinking, or is my reaction normal?

I drank for the first time and had around 7–8 raw shots of Magic Moments Green Apple vodka. I felt fine while drinking, but after some time it suddenly hit me—my head was spinning, I got really emotional, cried a lot, and then slept like a baby. Is that normal for a first time, or did I overdrink?
