throat issue

hi guys, first time poster. just wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience as mine. drank very heavy (4+ shots of vodka every night) for about 5 years, and now i only drink 3 or 4 beers on the weekend. the left side of my throat is, for lack of a better word, burned, and it kind of clicks when i swallow hard. some days it is better, some days it is worse. possibly damage to my larynx? has anyone had something like this and what was the outcome for you? i’m thinking maybe i should stop drinking completely to see if it goes away, but i can’t imagine only 3-4 beers on the weekend would continue to worsen this problem? it almost feels like a globus sensation, but there is a noticable spasm or clicking when swallowing; mostly when hard swallowing a liquid. appreciate your time reading this 🙏
