Government whiskey mmmm its good

Evan Williams Bottled – In – Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 100 proof.

Bought this for $21 USD yesterday. For being a fifth, this is an incredible deal. I was impressed by the smoothness despite it being 100 proof (which is a little intense for me, I usually prefer 80 proof). I’m still not that great at describing the flavors experienced with alcoholic beverages but I describe this as sweet, little fruity and toasty. Maybe a hint of bell pepper. Really good scent. So easy to drink, having this on the rocks can dilute it too much so I have it with one or two ice cubes in a highball glass.

Superb neat sipper. I’ve tried 10 or 15 different bourbons with my favorites being Bird Creek and Eagle Rare. I don’t consider this Evan Williams to be near the best, but it’s well above average in my opinion. Don’t crucify me for saying this, but I would choose this over buffalo trace and uncle nearest every time!

Trying out more uncle nearest is on my list though.
