How strong is alcohol smell to others when you drink?

I had a university presentation a few days ago in the morning around 9am. The night before I drank from around midnight until morning about 3 or 4 glasses of wine. I did this because I was very anxious.

I attended and completed the presentation. I spoke and answered questions at the end and was not stopped or interrupted during it. From my perspective I did a good job although I did feel a bit dizzy when leaving.

Afterwards about 2 days later I received an email asking for a meeting about the presentation. They stated concerns about my recent behaviour during the presentation. I don’t know if they are taking about the alcohol because I was sure I didn’t smell like alcohol. Showered brushed my teeth put on clean clothes and cologne to mask the smell. I was very careful to speak normally.

If they mention alcohol I would like to argue and say that I didn’t drink however will this sound false? Would it be obvious that I was a little tipsy? Will it be obvious I’m lying?
