is drinking post 21 worse/not as fun as pre 21??

i’m not 21 yet in college and most of my friends are not drinkers so i’m very rarely in the scene despite wanting to be (i drink maybe once a month) i consider whether i should be taking advantage of this time and drinking more and finding more friends that like to drink.
