Had a drunk epiphany

A few months ago I was drinking with my friend. Only had about six beers. That night, I was sitting at the dinner table at his house, and his sister was on a laptop finding out what colleges she was accepted into. She is a straight A student and she found out she didn’t get into a college. My simple, drunk brain, free of overthinking, put something together: ‘damn, if a straight A student in Early College Academy can’t get into a school, then me with my Ds and Cs won’t get into any!’ After that night, I suddenly had this motivation deep in my brain to do well in school. That was the first time I had got all As on my report card. I believe that if it wasn’t for my inebriated state, I never would have put it together that I needed to lock the fuck in and out my ass in gear.
