Liqueurs

A couple of weeks ago I made a vow to sample more liqueurs (cordials, sherrys, botanicals, amarettos, the like) because some guy was trying to get ahold of a bottle of Chartreuse and he couldn’t find one and I realized I had never had Chartreuse.

I’m one to keep my vow, but every time I go to the liquor store I feel shame and trepidation to buy these items. I wonder what the clerk will think of me for buying such a thing. I ultimately just browse for awhile and then go and buy a bottle Vodka or red wine.

It’s like I’m trying to buy porn. I want to go to a liquor store on the other side of town where no one will recognize me.
