What does alcohol feel like to you?

I don’t drink that often. Maybe once a month or so I’ll have a drink with a friend or something, but I’ve probably had more than two drinks in one day about 3 times in my life. I like the taste and idea of drinking alcohol, but I don’t care either way about getting drunk.

My question is, though- what does it feel like to get tipsy/buzzed/drunk/whatever for you? How do you know when the alcohol is affecting you?

I obviously don’t get in the car or make any big decisions if I’ve had more than 2 just to be safe, but there was one night where I went through an entire bottle of wine and the most I got was a little sleepy and some acid reflux. I think I may have felt the affects of a drink when I went to a wedding a few months ago, and I’m still not sure that it wasn’t just the nervousness and jittery feeling from being in a crowd with loud music.

For context, I’m in my 20s and the friends of mine who do drink are usually on either side of the spectrum- giggly and euphoric or severely depressed. I’ve only felt altered like that when I’m high.

Is being tipsy or drunk something you actually feel (like when you’ve smoked weed), or is it something you don’t notice is affecting you?
