Never get as drunk as friends

Basically every time I drink I will drink as much if not more than my friends and I feel like I do not get as drunk as them. Similar ages and body weights, the only difference I can think of is I drink a lot of water.

It’s definitely not that I’m completely sober, I get drunk, I’ve just never gotten to blackout point, and consistently feel like my friends are much drunker than me. I spent an hour at the toilet yesterday holding the hair of my friend who had dranken the same amount as me from the same bottle in the same timeframe and I was not nauseous at all. I also feel like the buzz wears off very quickly.

I’m not a heavy drinker with a high tolerance, i actually have some pancreas issues so I drink maybe once every 2-3 months. I am a heavy weed user though I abstain on days where I drink so I don’t think it would impact.

Just curious if it’s really just that I drink more water? Or does genetics really make a huge difference? I’m assuming someone here might have asked this question at some point.
