Do you develop a taste for alcohol and liquor over time?
I’m 21 and have tried many types of liquor and bourbon and beet etc, and I just find the alcohol part of it all disgusting and repulsive. I respect the history and significance of a good whiskey and liquor. But I don’t understand how people truly enjoy the taste and experience of drinking things like bourbon and vodka etc. The taste and alcoholic aspect of it just make me disgusted. And I mean this with no disrespect as I’m not saying it’s bad or wrong to enjoy. But with how significant and enjoyed it is, I don’t understand how someone enjoys the taste of it. My grandfather and father and so many other people genuinely enjoy the taste. But as a new drinker, I can’t help but make a grossed out face when I taste it yknow? Do you develop this over time with your tastebuds or even maturity? Or is it genuinely just a you like it or not thing?
I will say I wish I did enjoy it because I want to feel masculine and tough because drinking and enjoying bourbon and whiskey is associated with toughness and manliness but that’s a me problem.
Also, sorry if I’m repeating myself or a bit incoherent as I am a few shots in lol
