2 part question

I want to clarify i am nowhere near an experienced drinker and when i do drink its cheap rum and cheap whiskey lol so take it easy on me.

I posted about this in the Absinthe subreddit and i got kinda shit talked except for one nice person lol.

I bought this as a gift for a close family member who literally drinks damn near nothing but busch light, i thought this would be a fun gift since he probably doesnt even know what absinthe is (much like me because i was shit talked for buying this since apparently the absinthe community tells me this isnt actually absinthe regardless of what the bottle and box says lol). All i wanna know is will this get you drunk as hell? and if you know about absinthe and arent a massive snob about it can you tell me if this is real absinthe or not and why it is or isnt.
