If you want to get as drunk as possible in a couple of hours, what do you drink? (and does this change if price is a factor?)
Every now and then I have to squeeze a whole evening of drinking into an hour or two, and I’d prefer to do it economically.
Straight spirits aren’t the fastest for me, as I can’t just gulp it down. You can add a mixer, but that’s time and money literally down the drain.
I believe I have innovated, however. One can mix a spirit (vodka/white rum) with a liqueur. Something like 75% vodka, 25% some sort of berry liqueur of about 15% ABV. The spirit/liqueur ratio can fluctuate as you go; sometimes like 5% liqueur is enough to convince your insides that they aren’t on the verge of catching fire.
There’s probably some very good reasons why nobody is out there spreading this amazing “life hack”, but I swear by it.
If the liqueur is already sweet, as most are, go with the vodka. But white rum and a less intense liqueur works very well too.
My only exception to this would be in Australia, where goon (cask wine) is cheaper than Coca Cola, and spirits are sin-taxed into hell. There, straight goon is probably the way … or perhaps a white goon with a splash of fruit juice, since goon itself is rarely delicious.
With infinite money I guess I’d be drinking mojitos and Long Island iced teas. These can be smashed down at truly alarming speed if required.
