How to help someone who always cries when they’re drunk or high?

My partner always cries and gets emotional every time we drink. Whenever we drink, and he gets kind of drunk, he always tears up or bursts down in tears. It’s okay if he cries with me, but it always happens when we drink with his friends. I know he is stressed about a lot of stuff, and he wants to let it out. But I feel like I want to help him to be super happy like not crying when he’s drunk. I mean, when he cries, it is because he is either super happy or super sad… it just like I have never seen him happy without crying or laughing when he’s drunk since we’ve been together. I just want us to have a good fun time and not make him embarrassed after we drink haha
