Question about beer

I drink beer sober (8% – 10%) While sober it tastes WONDERFUL. I love it. But when I am absolutely shitfaced, that last half of my last beer tastes like BATTERY ACID. Does anyone experience this or know why? Been drinking years, only recently started about a month now. I drink 2-3 times a month on the weekends. Ex rehab, drinking was never my problem. I know the safetyl and my support group is perfect for me. Anyone else have any info or insight into this? Thank you!
