Best Resource To Learn As Much As Possible?
Hey guys so I get really overwhelmed and I’m autistic. I like to know things in super great depth and have a very analytical and systematic way of thinking.
I’m recently 21, and while I don’t plan on (or like to) drink, I want to learn about basic bar and alcohol etiquette, lingo, and gain a general understanding of types of drinks, just because as a functioning adult in society, I feel like I need to at least have some sort of understanding of alcohol, even if I don’t care to drink. Maybe at work or a family gathering the topic will come up or I’m offered some at a formal event.
Right now… this is embarrassing, but I only know wine is made from grapes and comes in red and white. Beef is the stuff men drink, and vodka and whiskey are something else and stronger and taste words somehow. Then there’s other mixed drinks that somehow taste good?
I know… I know basically nothing. It’s all so overwhelming and confusing.
I just want some sort of amazing video or podcast even. Maybe an in depth book. Something that works the way my brain works. Like “this occasion is for this drink, this drink is made with this” etc. Also bar etiquette and stuff like that. And types of drinks and the categories too for sure. Like the family tree of sorts of different drinks because there’s so many.
I’m willing to go into lots of depth so don’t worry about length. Preferably if someone else knows of a resource and also understands the super logical nature of someone with autism or OCD, it would help a lot because you might know the type of information I’m looking for.
I’m also very much welcoming flow charts or even your own original posts with information!
Thanks so much guys!
