Lifelong drinker
I’m 57, married for 30 years, great job making more than decent money, three adult kids all making their way in the world, nice house, good friends, dress well, physically fit (hot yoga and pilates), take a couple big vacations a year. And I’m a heavy drinker, have been for 30 years. I know it will end up killing me. No alcohol related health issues so far, but I feel I’m on borrowed time. It’s 5:30pm, logging off of work and sipping on the first of what will probably be 6 gin and tonics of the night. Standard routine. I’m totally functional, high performing, even. And that’s the problem, I can do this forever with no consequences other than an eventual serious health problem. Ah well, bottoms up!
