Sudden allergy to alcohol?

30F, been drinking since 19 socially and on spread out occasions. Will maybe have a drink once or twice a month on my own. Drink heavily during renfaires, parties, etc. which is not often.

Out of nowhere, I took a shot of pickled Vodka one night, and my face IMMEDIATELY turned red, burning and tingling sensation all over my face, nose was swollen and pulsating… Thought I was dying.

Took a Benadryl, went to the ER, about two hours later I was fine 🤷

Thought the pickle juice in the vodka went bad because the cork wasn’t tightly plugged into the glass jar. Dumped it out, checked my wines and everything else was good.

Fast forward two weeks to present day, haven’t had a drink since, and went to drink a glass of some fruity wine. I was fine sipping on it, but once I was going to bed and chugged the rest of the glass, boom same reaction. Burning face, pulsating sinuses, itching, chest red. No idea what’s going on, I was cleared by my Dr for anything that could be causing it.

Anyone else experience this random onset alcohol intolerance?
