4th of July

This 4th of July will mark one year since I almost died in a drunk driving accident. I (M22) had 16 stitches in my bottom lip and had to have a metal plate installed on my collarbone. My memory and ability to keep up with basic tasks at work has also been affected. The arm with the plate on it is significantly weaker now and feels so strange. I’m still not finished with the legal process, and was arrested. I swore up and down to my friends that I was fine and even passed a sobriety test. I was not. I blew a 0.2 BAC. It is now on my record and has already held me back from several opportunities.

Please do not drink and drive or allow your friends to do so. There are many drunks out driving around this time,making it more dangerous. Pay for an Uber or sleep on the floor. No excuses.

My body, mind and reputation will never be the same. Do the right thing. If not for yourself, then for the ones who care about you.
