How bad is it to drink after work every day?

I’m in a rough situation and have been for the past 3 months, around the end of my college semester and coming home. Dealt with some insanely tough electrical engineering/math/CS finals and used alcohol to cope quite a bit. Now come home to find out my aunt is getting me evicted from the house that I’ve lived in for 11 years since I lived with my grandma but now she has dementia. So been stressing about getting a place to stay.

Anyways, I don’t even really use alcohol to explicitly cope, but I do like to nightcap every night after work. I’m working 6 days a week maintenance at a science museum which I love the job it’s just tiring. But I’ve been doing it a lot more frequently since this shit has been happening.

I’m 21, 6’10” (yes I know I’m very tall lmao), 260 lbs, and I am a heavyweight when it comes to alcohol. I can down half a 750ml bottle and still not black out at all. Of course I don’t do this every night; I typically drink either 2 tall boy beers (michelob or coors) or I drink some whiskey neat (about 2-4 units of alcohol, Jim Beam).

Once again, I’ve been doing this for like 3, maybe even 4 months straight but so far have not had any issues with addiction, I have taken 2 weeks off several times and no withdrawals, and I havnt really had any issues with my sleep in all honesty. No heart issues or anything like that. Hell I’m not a bad person off of it, maybe a little more introspective and somber, bit of a sad drunk but better than an angry one.

The only thing though is i am scared about liver stuff. I mean it’s one of those things where since I’m so big and have such a big tolerance, alcohol doesn’t hit me unless I drink a lot, but is it still affecting my liver the same? And if so, what is the optimal drinking routine for not having liver issues?
