Been thinking about this for past couple years- carbonated spirits?

I’ve only seen a couple of YouTube videos. But if you make a cocktail that requires club soda, would it be the same if you just carbonate the liquor itself? I wanted to buy a sodastream or other device and try to carbonate vodka or gin or tequila. I don’t like cocktails, I drink neat. how would this affect the alcohol?
