Fireball not getting me drunk?

So in context I only really ever do shots of fireball and drink beer basically since I was 20 and I’m 25 now and fireball always seemed to get me pretty hammered after like 8 shots and it was my go to for a quick somewhat good tasting liquor but as of recently (last couple of months) I’ve been noticing that if I just strictly drink fireball it’s not getting me to that feel good drunk stage it’s only making me tired and nauseous but when I drink beer I get that feel good drunk after like 6 beers. Did my body develop a tolerance to fireball or what’s going on here? I can take 10 shots and be buzzed/heavily sedated but if I drink 10 beers I get outgoing hyper drunk. Makes no sense to me because everyone says “alcohol is alcohol” so the difference between whisky and beer shouldn’t be changing the way it’s effecting me but who knows.
