how the hell is whiskey enjoyable?

maybe it’s because i’m amidst the naivety of drinking appreciation, but i genuinely don’t understand how y’all enjoy whiskey.

no, it’s not because it burns that i hate it; it’s alcohol, no shit it burns. drinking vodka straight of the same proof (40%) is no problem. i’d like to say i can appreciate flavors beyond the dry bitterness — wine’s really nice to have.

but come on, it’s quite literally paint. smells like paint. tastes like paint. do people really enjoy licking trees? i suppose fireball’s an exception, since cinnamon is tree bark, but i digress. i’d even prefer malibu with all its sunscreen-ness over any whiskey. mayb except crown royal.
