Definition of an alcoholic.

I hate when people especially those who don’t drink, think they know what it means to be an alcoholic. For example, I had someone tell me that if you have more than 2 drinks a week, you’re an alcoholic. Like WHAT? that makes no sense. I had another tell me because I drink on the weekends only or if I drink during the week, that’s an alcoholic. Hmm maybe cause I work the weekend so the only days I can is during the week? What’s ya’ll definition of an alcoholic to you or what crazy definitions people have told you?
