Making malort (kinda)

So I’m making malort for a friend of mine who is a Chicagoan and I’m using a very primitive method of just distilling Swedish vodka with dried wormwood but I need a little help with how much of the herb to add and I’m worried about oxidation.

If anyone has done something like this and has any suggestions please chime in!
