alcohol detox

hi all. my husband has been drinking 3-5 shots of fireball daily for the past year and before that he was drinking an entire sleeve for maybe 2 years. he decided last night he wants to quit cold turkey but it worries me because i know how serious withdrawal can be. we are almost to 24 hours. he slept all day yesterday and through the night. he has no health insurance or id take him to a facility if he would go. i told him we could taper but he said this is the only way he’ll quit. any advice on how to ensure he does not have seizures or anything? he has no tremors yet, nor nausea and vomiting. he ate a pizza last night & then ate some chips and beer cheese. he is 27 and walks 20,000 steps a day at work. any advice welcomed!
