Pain After Drinking/Smoking

This is probably a weird post but I’m curious. I’m 23 and don’t drink often at all. But over the years I’ve noticed that sometimes when I drink alcohol, I’m more “aware” of general chest pain and/or back pain. Mind you, I’m not someone who deals with chronic pain or someone who has pain in these areas occasionally. This also occurs while I’m drinking and as soon as I feel “buzzed”. It feels like every time I drink, either my chest hurts like I’m having heart burn or my back hurts, like my spine is on fire. I’m not sure if this is just a mental thing or if there’s a genuine medical reason. I’ve always been under the assumption that drinking is supposed to numb physical (and mental) pain, but it seems like every time I drink, I experience pain that I don’t usually feel. I know there’s conditions where people are essentially “allergic” to alcohol. While I usually get feel very warm and occasionally sweat from drinking, it doesn’t seem like that. Unless, of course, I have a misunderstanding of the condition. Then again, I have had similar feelings after smoking weed in the past. I have done it a few times in high school and in my adult life, but it’s not very often. The last time I did, I already had pain before (menstrual pain), which just intensified after smoking. I’m probably just overthinking it but I can’t help to wonder why I experience pain so intensely when I’m intoxicated.
