Ibuprofen and alcohol?

Ok I’ve read a lot of conflicting things on mixing these two. I got a temporary crown put on a tooth 8 days ago and for the past 5 days I’ve had pretty intense pain that only goes away after taking ibuprofen. I’ve taken it twice a day the last 4 days. Today I didn’t feel much pain in the morning, and one of my friends asked me to go out and drink with him tonight, so I said yes thinking I wouldn’t have any ibuprofen today. Well the pain started coming back strong 30 minutes ago and I’m supposed to go drink in 2 hours.

My question is: can I take the ibuprofen now and go drink in two hours? I can eat a meal before I drink if I need to.

I’m a relatively healthy young guy, but have been taking ibuprofen all week, so I’m not sure if that affects anything.
