Alcohol and concussion. What’s what?

Hi all! I’m having a hard time differentiate symptômes, help! My partner and I are in an all inclusive vacation right now. 40 hours ago, he hit his head on a tree branch. He has had a hit there a few years back and very mild concussion symptoms then (headache and light sensitivity). He did not tell me he hit his head on the tree yesterday and drank all day. I did find myself thinking that he was getting drunk and confused pretty fast but mind you, he is an alcoholic, so I see him drunk and confused and unsteady on his legs a few times per month. He only told me he hit his head yesterday in the evening, and again drank part of that day too.

So what I’m having a hard time differentiating are: Trouble reading Scrabble letters Light sensitivity Unsteady legs (looks like a drunken walk) Pain in the area of the hit (top of his head) Vomiting 3 times in the span of a hour or two (roughly 35-40 hours after hit but also after three days of drinking rum and beer) Trouble remembering parts of the day (a little like someone who was blacked out drunk) Emotional outbursts (after many drinks) Confusion and incoherence (after many drinks)

So this morning it’s only the vomiting, no slurred speech, not overly unsteady on his legs and not really confused.

So what’s what? Should I involve the resort clinic or not? Is he hungover or badly concussed?

Help?
