How is it that two sips of an 18% abv beer gets me almost instantly buzzed, but I can sip on 50-60+% bourbon and be totally fine?

I do know that there are types or feelings of drunk based on what alcohol it is — I’m sure y’all know the difference of feeling between beer drunk and whiskey drunk — but how is this possible?

It seems backwards and wild.
