Should I pursue rum or tequila?

I absolutely love both. I’m from Puerto Rico a place some like to call the “rum capital” of the world but ever since I tried tequila I can’t go back unless I’m broke. rum here is ridiculously cheap I mean you can get a 750ml bottle for less than 10$. But ever since I got a taste of tequila I have fallen in love however the raise in price is insane a decent bottle nets you around 25$-35$ for the “cheap stuff”. So I’m thinking of just sticking to rum for now but let me know what yall think
