Question for brewery people

When I take my first sips of a canned alcoholic beverage (usually lager beers), I am hit with great flavors (like a smooth IPA but toasty). But after my second or third sip it tastes more like the beer I’d expect. This effect was strong with Steel Reserve “High Gravity” lager.

Are my taste buds deceiving me or are there floaties on top from the brewing process? Could it also be from the can resting for a while?

I like that initial taste. Let me know if there are beverages out there with that same or similar taste but throughout the drink.
