How much do u have to drink til u face permanent consequences?

I’m not an alcoholic or anything, but I have family members who are. Like literally have drank a whole bottle of vodka everyday for years. However, none of them have lost their vision, gotten jaundice, have liver failure, etc.

So I guess I’m just wondering how much you have to drink until you can’t recover?
