Alcohol sometimes stinks

Weird question. Sometimes, if I’ve been drinking a lot, alcohol (doesn’t matter what: vodka, hot damn, anything) suddenly smells terrible. It’s a very particular odor that I cannot describe, and it stinks so bad for several days until I presumably take days off from drinking. Then it’s odorless again. Has anyone else experienced this?
