19F, 0.13 BAC Total Blackout
Hello,
I started drinking when I was 16, as I am from a country where the drinking age is 18. I would regularly consume multiple shots of tequila in addition to multiple drinks a night, and my reputation for alcohol tolerance was well-renowned. I proudly held the title of never yakking or blacking out, even when well over reasonable boundaries (ex: 4 shots and 2 double drinks). I must’ve been 110 pounds soaking wet.
When I was 19 (currently 21), I ate a full meal and then drank a shooter of fireball and one twisted tea with friends within two hours and departed to get the party started. Max an hour later, I lost consciousness and just didn’t wake up to anything anyone did. The ambulance ended up being called, and my intake BAC was 0.13%.
At the time, I weighed 120 pounds and had still never in my life reacted to that despite the aforementioned copious amounts of alcohol. I am 100% certain I was not drugged and did not take any additional substances. I did not have a hangover the next morning (IV probably helped), and recalled nothing starting about 10 minutes before I dropped.
Is it viable for that BAC to induce such a blackout? Has this happened to anyone? Would appreciate any insight. Thank you! 🙂
